Hey bookworms. I thought I would do something different for today's post. I have seen people do this online and thought I would join in. To date, I have completed or very nearly completed 14 book series, so let's rank them from worst to best. It is worth noting though that I do love all of these series, since I am the first to not continue with a series if I am not really enjoying it. Let's go.
14. The Maze Runner Trilogy by James Dashner

Political issues with the author aside, I actually quite enjoyed the first book in this series. The rest of the series though suffered the Mockingjay syndrome, wherein the author removes the characters from the arena, or in this case, the maze, and the story just goes downhill from there. The dynamics of this group in the maze are so excellent, and I just would have liked to spend more time in that setting. Hence, this series comes in last for me.
13. The Immortals by Alyson Noel

Anyone who knew me in high school knows that I was obsessed with this series for a good few years. Looking back on it, I can definitely see that this series has some flaws, and is a little repetitive of other series from its time, but I was entranced with this series. I know some people really are not fans of this series, but it will always hold a special place in my heart.
12. The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

This series and I have a complicated relationship. Some of the installments are some of my favourite books of all time, while others I sort of had to sleep walk through. This was a rollercoaster of a series for me, but I truly did love all of our main characters. I am aware that some elements of this series are problematic, but you cannot deny the pure genius that is City of Glass or even, my personal favourite, City of Lost Souls.
11. The Delirium Trilogy by Lauren Oliver

I discovered this series earlier this year, and flew through the first 2 books. The third book, however, is the only reason this series is so low on the list. The first 2 books are incredible though, and are completely revolutionary for the time they were published. Seeing love as a disease is such an interesting concept, and I think Lauren Oliver took this idea to its full extent. I would highly highly recommend this series to fans of YA dystopian series like Divergent and The Hunger Games.
10. The Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth

Speaking of Divergent- I really wish I had a reason to put this higher on the list, but the top 10 is a tough category to beat. Divergent was an entire phase in my teenage years, and it was definitely my post Hunger Games hangover series. At the time that I read this series, it blew me away. There is definitely something to be said about the sorting/choosing trope that is seen in a few different books at this time, and honestly, I would still love seeing this in a series today.
9. The Magic in Manhattan Series by Sarah Mlynowski

I do not care how old I get, I will always love this series. It is just pure fun with all of the relatable awkwardness of being a young teenager. This series deserves way more hype than it got, and it is criminally underrated. When I have kids (*hint Andrew hint*), I will read these books out loud to them... after Harry Potter of course.
8. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

Pure masterpiece of a trilogy. This has definitely been said before, but I have never been more torn in a love triangle ever! I am ALWAYS so decisive! Team Edward. Team Peeta. This trilogy though almost gave me whiplash. More than that though, it took everything I loved about The Mortal Instruments and added even more twists and an even more intriguing heroine.
7. The Witch and Wizard Series by James Patterson

This series is an unexpected favourite for me. I just found myself putting it higher and higher up on the list. The premise is very intriguing and it is very refreshing to see a brother/sister duo as the main characters. This series is one of the rare ones that gets better and better with each installment and not nearly enough people are talking about this series.
6. The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins

I could not have these books any lower on the list. There is not much to say about this series that has not been said already, but I do have a never ending love for this trilogy. We are not going to talk about The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, but the rest of this series was a phenomenon for a reason.
5. The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer

Top 5 starting of strong with an old reliable. Twilight was (and is) a huge part of my life and will always hold a place in my heart. This was the series that got me hooked on reading again and ventured out into other series like The Hunger Games and Divergent. Is it a perfect series? No. Does it entertain me every time? Of course. It could not be any lower than top 5 on my list.
4. The Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling

Problematic aspects of this series and its creator aside, Harry Potter continues to bring magic to people around the world everyday. There is no denying the feeling that I get when talking about, reading or watching Harry Potter. Yes there are issues, but there are also some wonderful and amazing aspects about it.
3. The To All The Boys I've Loved Before Trilogy by Jenny Han

2 out of 3 of these books I read in one sitting each. That is the only time in history that I have done that, so obviously these books had to be in the top 3. Reading these books gives me all the fluffy, sweet and innocent feels and I want to stay in that story forever. This is the perfect summer series and it takes zero effort to fall in love with it.
2. The Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J Maas

You want character development? You want a magical world to escape into from reality? You want twists and turns woven into one of the most brilliant stories ever told? Then you want to read the Throne of Glass Series. Starting out as a simple assassin's contest story, this series takes us on a brilliant journey that will end nowhere near where it began.
1. A Court of Thorns and Roses Series by Sarah J Maas

Remember how good I said the Throne of Glass series is? Imagine that times about a billion! The Court of Thorns and Roses series is the most beautifully exciting and heartbreaking series I have ever read. There was really no choice here when it came to my number one on this list. They make look intimidating at first, but I PROMISE it is worth the read. Just trust me on this one. The best part... this series is not even over!!
So there you have it. Every series I have ever read, ranked in a definitive list. Maybe I will revisit this in a few years and see how my tastes have changed, but for now, this is where I stand. Have a great week!
