Hey bookworms, today is going to be a bit of a different post! I thought it would be cool to take you along with me as I do the Pottermore Sorting Quiz. For years, I have been a proud Hufflepuff, but I have not taken the quiz since about 2017, so I want to see if I am still that way. Let's get started!

Question 1: Moon or Stars?

The stars to me just hold so much more possibility than the moon does, and I have always been drawn to them.

My choice: Stars

Question 2: A troll has gone berserk in the Headmaster's study at Hogwarts. It is about to smash, crush and tear several irreplaceable items and treasures. In which order would you rescue these objects from the troll's club, if you could?

The options I was given were; a nearly perfected cure for dragon pox, student records going back 1000 years, and a mysterious handwritten book full of strange runes. Here is my thought process: Are student records really that important? Also, the demon pox cure is only near perfected, and I'm sure that the process has been documented somewhere for a situation like this. As for the book, it seems like an irreplaceable one of a kind item.

My choice: Book, Cure, then Records.

Question 3: Which of the following would you most hate people to call you?

The choices were Ignorant, Selfish, Ordinary or Cowardly. In my mind, I try to be as considerate and mindful as I can be. I would be heartbroken if someone were to call me ignorant. Selfish is definitely another one to consider and goes along with ignorant, so it was a close call. As for ordinary or cowardly, it would not particularly bother me to be called either of those things, as they are not related in any way to me being a good person.

My choice: Ignorant

Question 4: A Muggle confronts you and says that they are sure you are a witch or wizard. Do you...?

The choices I had were; ask what makes them think so? Tell them that you are worried about their mental health and offer to call a doctor? Agree and ask whether they'd like a free sample of a jinx? Agree and walk away, leaving them to wonder whether you are bluffing? To me, the choice was clear; deny, deny, deny. I know the rules of the wizarding world and I know you cannot reveal yourself to a muggle. From there, I think asking what makes them think so is the best route, as I can use logic against why they think so.

My choice: Ask what makes them think so.

Question 5: If you were attending Hogwarts, which pet would you choose to take with you?

The choices given were a cat, a toad or an owl.

My choice: Cat

Then it went on to ask me what kind of cat. The choices were a ginger cat, a white cat, a tabby cat, a Siamese cat, or a black cat? Honestly, the tabby cat looks a lot like the cat I already have so the choice was pretty easy.

My choice: Tabby cat

Question 6: If you could have any power, which would you choose?

My choices were the power to read minds, the power to change the past, the power of invisibility, the power to speak to animals, the power of superhuman strength, or the power to change your appearance at will. I have a sneaking suspicion that my dog is a lot smarter than me, so I would love to find out.

My choice: The power to speak to animals.

Question 7: What kind of instrument most pleases your ear?

My choices were the piano, the drum, the violin or the trumpet. I completely understand and appreciate the talent and skill it takes to play any of these instruments, especially since I never had the patience to play any instrument. In terms of sound, the piano is the one I most associate with calm, comfort and ease, and although I do appreciate a good drum beat, Edward Cullen did not play Bella's lullaby on a drum set now did he?

My choice: The piano

Question 8: White or Black?

There was no logic behind this one. It was completely random.

My choice: Right

That's it for the questions! Time for the results.

And I got...... RAVENCLAW!!

While I have always identified as, and this test has always resulted in me being, a Hufflepuff, I can understand the result of Ravenclaw. I think as I got older and more mature and really settled into my personality, I also settled into my more Ravenclaw traits. While I am sad to no longer hold my Hufflepuff status, there is no other house that I would want to be a part of.
